Georgia’s incoming recruiting class has been ranked seventh nationally by Collegiate Baseball as the publication released its top 50 for the 2024 season.

Collegiate Baseball factors their annual evaluation of recruiting classes based on who came to school and not those who initially signed letters of intent and then turned professional. The Bulldogs have 31 newcomers on their fall roster including 17 from the transfer portal, eight who have already graduated, and 14 freshmen.

The Bulldog newcomers include infielder Kolby Branch, who earned Freshman All-America honors while at Baylor last season as he captured the “Triple Crown” for the Bears. Suwanee native Brandt Pancer, a right-handed pitcher, who has helped Stanford to three College World Series appearances. The graduate transfer pitchers include Daniel Padysak who started in the World Baseball Classic for his native Czech Republic, Josh Roberge who has appeared in the Division II and III World Series and Atlanta native Brian Zeldin who led Penn to its finest season ever as the Quakers advanced to the NCAA Auburn Regional final. The graduate hitters joining the Bulldogs include outfielders Dillon Carter (Texas Tech), Clayton Chadwick (Sam Houston State), Dylan Goldstein (Florida Atlantic), Logan Jordan (Campbell) and infielder Paul Toetz (Purdue).

The Bulldogs will play the University of Florida in the annual fall 10-inning exhibition game in Jacksonville, Fla. on Friday, Oct. 27. The exhibition will be at 6:30 p.m. and played at 121 Financial Ballpark, home of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, the Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. The Bulldogs are the visiting team this year. Tickets will be $15 and include a 90’s themed post-game concert featuring performances by Vanilla Ice, Young MC, Montell Jordan and Tone Loc. Fall baseball practice will conclude Nov. 5 with an exhibition against Kennesaw State at Foley Field. First pitch against the Owls will be at noon.
