We own a cabin near Mineral Bluff about a mile south of the NC border. Last night, shortly after grilling salmon for dinner, we had a black bear walk through our gravel parking area and then made his way to the wooded area behind our house. He showed up around 8:30, shortly after grilling salmon for dinner. We keep our BGE on a deck that has a doggie gate but I wouldn’t exactly consider it to be bear proof. We will be smoking ribs today for the fourth.
Any concerns about bears knocking over my Egg at night? This was the first time seeing a bear at the cabin, although my parents used to own a cabin in Elijay and we saw bears there several times.
