Georgia’s Beau Gardner is one of three finalists for the Patrick Mannelly Award given to the top snapper in the FBS, according to a recent announcement.

Gardner, a UCLA graduate transfer from San Francisco, Calif., joins Florida’s Rocco Underwood and Michigan’s William Wagner in the final group. Gardner is now the Bulldogs’ first semifinalist and finalist for the accolade in the award’s six-year existence.

Gardner has snapped on Georgia’s 60 combined field goal attempts and PATs as well as each of the 35 punts for Georgia this year. Sophomore PK Peyton Woodring has connected on 17-of-18 field goal attempts, including three of 50 or more yards, and is 42-for-42 on PATs. Woodring is tops in the Southeastern Conference and is ranked fourth nationally with a 94 percent mark on field goals.

Gardner has set junior P Brett Thorson up for a 46.3 average (43.6 net) as Thorson has forced 12 fair catches, dropped 19 inside the 20 and hit 13 that measured longer than 50 yards. Opponents have six punt returns for 18 yards this season, which ranks fifth nationally.
