What is the best bacon you can get in your local grocery store? Something you can only get at a local butcher does not count (and I am jealous if someone gets good bacon that way). I eat bacon and eggs at least 5 mornings a week doing my carnivore diet. I have been doing it since new years, and still enjoy it. Here's my extremely short list:
Hormel Black Label - consistently the best
Wright's Thick Cut - really good, takes forever to cook
Smithfield - Their Hometown Original, Cherrywood Smoked, and Thick Cut are all pretty decent, but not as good as Hormel. You sometimes get one of those packs where the bacon is all shredded looking and falling apart.
Oscar Mayer - Ordinary, will do in a pinch.
Hatfield - Disappointingly inconsistent, seems to have a glaze on it that burns easily
Publix - garbage, always falling apart, cooks down to nothing
Streak-o-lean - Man I miss this stuff from when I was a kid. Anyone know where to find any? I have not seen any in years.
