Called up 700 soldiers from the Tennessee national Guard to be sent to the Middle East to help Kuwait, as opposed to helping Americans in the home and neighboring state in desperate need.

Oh yeah and on Saturday, sent Ukraine an additional 8 billion $

Sorry bastards

JAWAG……but would think that the Prez could override state governors during the times of a national need.

Guessing he is prioritizing where he needs them most (federalizing).

Lol I suggest you reread ans take this post down if you think state Governors can't mobilize the Army Guard...is this really what you're saying?

They absolutely can for civil times of unrest in their state. But the president of the US has the ability to mobilize them overseas. Since this is an overseas event named Spartan Shield and the tn soldiers will be shipped to the Middle East, it clear as the meridian sun who made the call. Fed law gives the Pres. this ability.

If you want to make that stupid argument that a rep Tn gov made the decision to send NG soldiers to the middle east to enhance relations with us, all in the midst of a real, rare, humanitarian travesty in his state, your beyond desperate

no, only nancy pelosi

I thought the state gov could call up the NG but maybe it’s just for civil unrest and when help with domestic law
Enforcement is needed.

In any event sho is wrong and desperate to protect his immoral faux leaders.

Only a Prez would send NG soldiers to conduct an operation in Kuwait. No way the fed govt would allow a state to do that in the first place.

I'm not making that argument at all, but when it comes to disaster relief normally the first thing any Governor will do is mobilize the Guard. The deployments that state Guards deploy on with Title X have been planned for normally at least 2 years in advance. So this deployment has been planned for months in advance.

If a state needs its Guard for disaster relief they have the power to do so and I can promise you JS and NGB would find another Guard unit in another state to deploy on that tasking. If a states Guard isnt being utilized for disaster relief that's on that state Governor and not the federal government

Bullshit. Biden has plenty more NG to call upon. And who gives a damn that they have been planning for months or even years. A postponement of deployment until this crisis is under control is more than warranted.

Nothing is so gravely important in Kuwait, that the deployment could not be held off, or even substituted by another state’s unit. None. This is flat out cover for an unethical prez that isn’t worried about a specific portion of his population because he is not popular with them.

Evil. Sacrifice our citizens lives for political expediency.

10RC has over 10,000 Guard members and this is only 700...the state has plenty of Guard members to call up.

I think the question is since Eastern Tennessee just got blasted , why did he pick Tennessee to call the NG troops up?

Also , what is happening in Kuwait right now?

Absolutely. Why not chose from anywhere but NC and TN. I know this group had been prepping for assignment there but given the purpose, it could easily be postponed or reassigned.

Another point is the white just turning their nose up and saying fvck you to a traditional conservative state.

It’s called Spartan Shield. Sounds like they are going to train others and provide a presence. As usual, lots of fancy sounding words and prose meant to justify the action. Here’s one description, up to you as to whether you want to believe which is more important:

“Operation Spartan Shield builds partnerships in the Middle East to promote regional self-reliance and increase security. As a part of U.S. Central Command, the Tennessee Soldiers will assist maintaining a military posture in the region, help strengthen defense relationships, and serve as an enhanced force throughout the area.”

Yes, the president has the power to deploy the national guard internationally in times of, in his opinion, national security. But you know that. Just google it.

States have authority on state decisions when national security was not in question, which it wasn’t. So the President did not have the authority.

ArtII.S2.C1.1.11 Presidential Power and Commander in Chief Clause

Article II, Section 2, Clause 1:
The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

The President’s power with regard to the armed
forces has long been debated. In defense of executive action in Indochina, the Legal Adviser of the State Department, in a widely circulated document, contended:

Under the Constitution, the President, in addition to being Chief Executive, is Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy. He holds the prime responsibility for the conduct of United States foreign relations. These duties carry very broad powers, including the power to deploy American forces abroad and commit them to military operations when the President deems such action necessary to maintain the security and defense of the United States.

Because he didn't pick this unit...these tasking come down from the SecDef through the Joint Staff via the National Guard Bureau. The POTUS isn't the one picking specific units for deployments and odds are this deployment had been known about for months.

And yet, here we are. Commander in Depends, forsaking the well being of his citizens, in distress, in order to benefit the fortunes of an overseas state.

The word traitor comes to mind but in reality does not do his crimes justice.

Yep that's right...but for some reason you guys are leaving out that Governors deployee the Guard for their specific state for disaster relief.

Still defecting. Everyone knows he has the authority to tell whomever, to choose soldiers elsewhere. Yet he sat in silence as the soldiers of Tn are ordered to defend the fortunes of far away lands, countries and peoples, while the deaths and sorrows of those he swore to serve and protect are deserted.

Here's all you need to know. Elon is doing more than FEMA. She is proving herself inept and totally incapable. With social media, the MSM can't hide it anymore. Trump will be 47.
