As I reviewed the transcripts from today's interviews, the biggest thing that stood out to me was how Zachariah Branch talked about Gunner Stockton. Remember, Georgia is supposed to be holding a "quarterback competition" this spring. But that didn't stop Branch from seemingly giving Gunner Stockton his stamp of approval.
"I just saw that he came in in that SEC Championship game, and so he did his thing," Branch said of what he knew about Stockton before committing. "So, I saw that and I was like, okay. I watched him throughout the practices when I came up here on the visit, and I just saw his work ethic and his fire in practice. You know, that's something that caught my eye as well. And then when it tied into everything else that the culture brings and the program bring and having him at quarterback, it was something that I was really interested in."
You expect positive things to be said about fellow teammates. But for me, Branch's biggest stamp of approval for Stockton is that he decided to come to Georgia after a season at USC, where things didn't exactly go well with a first-year starter.
