It's a magical time for most. But for the poor and especially the lonely, it's the worst time of year. For poor parents, the pressure to deliver for their kids, is spirit crushing. And for people who don't have a lot of family and friends, it's often a reminder of how alone they are or what they used to have.
I won't draw this out into a TLDR, but if you do one act of kindness that you normally wouldn't (and Christmas has a way of inspiring this) try to make someone feel a little less lonely if you can. And maybe, if you're able to, help out a family that can't afford a great Christmas... but if you do that, maybe try to be mindful of not making the parents look bad when you're 'doing it for the kids'.
