"I kept telling him always: stay calm, be patient, in two years Israel will no longer exist," the elder Farook told the newspaper. "Geopolitics is changing: Russia, China, America too, nobody wants the Jews there."

This is what we are dealing with with the Muslims. They will never acknowledge Israel and their right to statehood in the ME. This war will never end - if we continue top pacify these idiots we are continue to experience violence, and it will get worse.

Seriously, what makes the Jews so special? Why didn't we give the American Indians their own country after essentially trying to eliminate their existence and putting what remained of them in concentration camps? What about other "displaced people" throughout modern history? In my opinion, Isreal existence causes just as many problems as it prevents.

As a Christian believer I still buy in to the whole concept that the Jews are God's chosen people. I also believe the Europeans had it right with The Crusades. We can argue if you want, but this is my belief and it has been almost five decades in the making.

Not looking for an argument, just other perspectives. Thanks

Read the old testament. God thinks pretty highly of His "chosen people".

We didn't give Israel to the Jews.

What makes the Muslim's so special? Why are the Jews the ones to back down?

Would like your opinion.

It's not about backing down, but rather the rationale behind creating Isreal in the first place. The UN created Isreal in 1948 - technically after the Brits gave up their control of the area that they'd assumed after WWI. Either way, the chain of events points to the fact that it was "given" to the Jewish people.

Holy Shiite. There your story in a nut bag. Are we seriously going to fight wars for the Torah, the bible, and the Koran in this day and age....unfortunately because of guys like this and others who fight for the Torah and Koran against him...the answer is yes. And these are the religions of peace...ironic huh?

I agree with you, but the answer is demographics. There are more Jewish people in the USA than in Israel, and more Jewish people living in NYC than Jerusalem. Jewish Americans control a lot of wealth and political power, and some are extremely partisan toward their homeland.

Israel is not our friend. Their government routinely spies on us and uses the welfare money they take from our taxpayers to bribe US military and intelligence officers to commit treason on behalf of Israel. If any other nation was caught doing this, our government would sever diplomatic relations, but it's Israel...

Remember Israel deliberately sank a US warship, the USS Liberty.

I hold to the Founders' belief that the United States ought never to engage in extreme behavior toward foreign countries but should treat other countries indifferently.

Our nutjobs are almost as dangerous as their nutjobs.

islam is NO religion of peace, just a front. Look at the way they treat their own women and children. It is a cult of hatred.

Yeah, bad reasoning there 66.
If too many thought like You We truly would be in endless wars. People hold ugly beliefs all over the World. For instance, some actually think We should go to war against 1.6 billion Muslims over the actions and even words of a few, how messed up is that ?

Reality is if we declared today that we will no longer support Israel and pulled totally out of the Middle East, Islamic Jihadists would still view us the enemy. Islamic holy warriors waging wars of conquest in the name of Allah predates modern Israel by many centuries. Truth is, they--ISIS, Al Qaeda, Salafi and so on-are simply modern iterations of a strand of Islamic belief dating back to the beginnings of Islam in the 7th Century. Short of confessing a belief in Allah and the Prophet and adopting their version of Islamic law, we are the infidel enemy. They might allow us to live and continue to practice our religion under their rule if we paid them tribute, but they might not.

Nothing we did created radical Islam. Nothing we can do short of capitulation will appease them. That's the starting point to understanding the nature of the enemy. No, we shouldn't judge all Muslims based on the actions of the zealot minority in their midst. But neither should we pretend that they aren't really Islamic or that all they want is to be left alone. Our support for Israel and our presence in the Middle East have made it easy for their leaders to recruit followers, but their core leadership is made up of religious zealots on a mission from Allah to establish his kingdom on earth. The whole earth.

i mean, you can say that if you want, but they dont seem to be running out of them either....they keep making more.

Islam or not, I'd just as soon be rid of Israel as an ally. Maybe the US government is practicing Vito Corleone's maxim: Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.

They do not understand anything but an opposite force stronger than theirs to dismantle their fighting ability. We can not stand by as they grow stronger and kill more innocent victims. If they were truly peaceful they would not target innocent civilians all over the world. You look at all the hot wars or skirmishes around the globe 95% can be linked to islam. Yea, peaceful just ask any non-muslime middle easterners how kind they are to others labeled non-muslimes.

Serious? I am not a sympathizer or anything, but the west has done some pretty foul things towards them and at worst the US has meddled in the affairs of the ME, both overtly and covertly, that BLOWBACK was/is bound to happen.

That said we could have probably done nothing and they would not like us either.

Yes, we have done some things regrettable things in the ME. We have propped up ruthless dictators to do our bidding since the end of WWII. I don't deny that.

My point is that while these things might add fuel to the flame, they'd still hate us for our religious freedom, our representative democracy, our views toward women, the corrupting nature of our music, TV, and movies, gambling, alcohol and our failure to honor the Prophet...among other reasons....and they would still believe it is their religious duty to create Allah's kingdom on earth according to the dictates of the Koran and other sacred writings.
