If we assume Georgia wins out there’s a very real possibility we have to travel to Bama or Ole Miss again in the first round. I really hope the committee is intentional in avoiding rematches. Unless there’s some chaos Georgia isn’t likely to host imo.
I know we’re projecting here. At the moment I think the #5 seed is locked up with either Oregon/Ohio St. So there’s really 3 other teams fighting for a home playoff game.
We’ll get much needed info tonight, but it feels like the committee will rank Bama, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, and Penn St ahead of us. All teams that will be at large bids.
None of this matters if we don’t win Sat I know. I think as of right now we’re probably going to finish 9-10 ahead of teams like Indiana, Boise St, and MAYBE Notre Dame. Notre Dame is the interesting one because imo they don’t deserve a home game for losing to NIU at home AND not in a conference. Maybe a Tennessee win for us helps us jump them if they’re ranked ahead of us tonight.
So basically I think we’re likely headed to whoever finishes 6,7,8 and atm that is probably Penn St, Bama, Ole Miss in some order.
