Clyo, if you are going to post crap, at least do it right******************

I'm afraid you may not be smart enough to see it***************************

Clyo...fwiw, God practices discrimination EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY.....

Jesus Christ (God Incarnate) said it Himself......

"Therefore, I said to you that you will DIE IN YOUR SINS; FOR IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE THAT I AM HE, YOU WILL DIE IN YOUR SINS." -- John 8:24

Only the righteous in Christ will be in heaven, Clyo....doesn't matter if you're Baptist, Catholic, Muslim, what have you.....if you're not under the blood of Jesus Christ, you're under the judgement and wrath of God.

Choose whom you will serve....

c'mon TyTy

Sorry but youre view and interpretation is far too narrow

For my liking

Feel free to Pharisee as you see fit

You mean to say, God's view is too narrow for you......

Again, Jesus' words.....

"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." - - John 7:13,14

Two ways are offered to everyone, Clyo. The NARROW gate is by faith, ONLY THROUGH JESUS CHRIST, very constricted and precise. It represents true salvation in God's way that leads to life eternal.

The wide gate includes all religions of works and self-righteousness, with no single way....but, it leads to HELL, not heaven.

Again, the words of Jesus Christ....

"In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you." -- II Corinthians 6:2a

"Behold, NOW is the accepted time; behold, NOW is the day of salvation." -- II Corinthians 6:2b

There is no other way to eternal life....

"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." - - Acts 4:12

Take heed, my friend!!

more of Jesus's words...

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then
shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

I think he wanted us to worry more about our own sin than that of others.

Then why were the early Christians told to go out and spread the gospel...

... to the world?

What is the gospel, after all? Isn't Christ all about God's love for a sinful world that He gave His only begotten Son to be a blood sacrifice for the (wait for it) SIN of mankind? Who is going to spread the gospel and tell others about forgiveness of (here it comes again) SIN?

Also, this matter isn't about pointing out the sin of an individual. This matter is about responding to an effort to normalize what the Bible CLEARLY declares to not just be sin, but goes further and calls it an abomination, referring to mankind twisting and perverting God's most prized creation, that which He created in His own image.

The cake bakers didn't go seeking someone toward which to wag their finger and point out their sin. They were approached by Sodomites wishing to have them bake a cake to celebrate their lifestyle which God calls an abomination. The cake bakers have every right to say, "No, thank you."

Like it was said elsewhere, this isn't about someone being denied of their so-called "rights." This is about trying to force Christians to adhere to their perverted and sinful lifestyle. Christians not only have a right to respond, but are commanded to not adhere to such sinful practices and certainly not celebrate it.

my take, HONESTLY, is spread the news about the cross and redemption

I think the Holy Spirit can do a better job of convicting those of their sins than you can.

Those abominations are terrible...

…right there with eating shellfish. Hell awaits them all!!!!

I think the OP was simply saying that we are not to judge…that is God's right not ours. It is one thing to spread the word of God and that of course is very subject to an individual's interpretation. You can read it one way…another just as devout Christian can read it another. Who is right? That is for God to decide not us.

You have a right to your belief, and even if people agree or disagree it doesn't make you wrong, or them right. The important thing is to live your own life the way you think you should…and leave the rest to God.

hey bud...jmhho, don't get mixed up in these crazies. they

don't think in linear/normal ways...

spinning in circles with the Thumpers...

You misunderstand the meaning of Judgement. To judge someone is...

to deny them the opportunity to repent. So Paul is saying, don't deny others the SAME opportunity to repent that you have been afforded.

If you are only referencing the Old Testament and the Mosaic Law...

... then you're way, way, way off base. In fact, you're 100% incorrect.

Let's go just to the New Testament and there is clear and irrefutable text to address this very topic; homosexuality. It has nothing to do with "how it is read" and/or "interpretation" It is crystal clear.

In the Book of Romans, the apostle Paul stated it clearly in chapter 1:

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Was Paul judging someone when he wrote that in his letter to the church at Rome? Was he assuming God's role of judging people or was he stating God's truth, as inspired by God, Himself?

Then, let's look at the words of Jesus Christ, Himself, that He spoke in regards to marriage as established by God, when being questioned about divorce. This is recorded in the Book of Matthew, chapter 19:

"Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."

This was Christ's response to a question concerning marriage and divorce. He specified how mankind was created, male and female, where it concerns what is a marriage. He didn't utter one syllable about any nonsense of two males or two females being married to one another. Only a complete fool would even suggest such a thing. He pointed to the most basic and elementary of logic and truth, and that is in how God created mankind from the very beginning.

This text is clear and it leaves no room for someone to interpret it in one way and someone else to interpret it in a completely different way that changes the meaning and intent by 180 degrees. The truths of God are not, at all, subject to my opinion nor anyone else's opinion. The truths of God are clearly written within His word that He has given us, and that is within the 66 books collected within the Holy Bible.

Resorting to the Mosaic Law (that God gave solely to the nation of Israel) and referencing shellfish is a cop out that is commonly used by supporters of the homosexual agenda, which happens to be in direct opposition to the teachings of Christ and the word of God. That's not my interpretation nor my opinion. It is the absolute authority and you and I and anyone else can read it for ourself.

Okay big boy...

The only thing I will say is this…I know a lot more about the Bible than you. Your "interpretations" show incredible amounts of ignorance because you have zero idea of the context that those words were written in. I won't waste my time explaining to you what was going on during that passage, but it isn't what you say. I did not "cop out" and I did not misinterpret anything. I did not use the Bible to spew hatred towards anyone. And if you think for one minute the Bible cannot be interpreted in various ways to suit people's own prejudices, then you are more naive than I could imagine. That is exactly how the Bible has been used by malicious people for millennia. Jesus also spoke frequently about slavery and how servants should obey their masters. Do you truly believe that Jesus, in today's world, would support such an institution? Yet the Bible is clear on that as well…based on certain interpretations.

I spoke neither for or against the topic at hand. I simply said the OP was trying to express a particular point that we should leave judgement to God. And on that point the Bible is also crystal clear as you like to say. The reference to abomination was used by you are someone else…and I spoke to that as a sequa. It is funny to me when people talk about this…they always reference the Old Testament, until the full context of God's law is laid out…then it is referred to as Mosaic Law and shouldn't be held as the standard for us. They pick it out to make their point, then cast dispersions on others when it gets picked apart. Can't have it both ways.

People like you look for reasons to hate and despise, and profess how the way they read the Bible is the only way it can be read. The Christians I choose to associate with are more interested in love and kindness…not condemnation and spite. Despite your claim, I have no agenda for or against homosexuality. It is not a lifestyle that appeals to me at all. I was trying to bring this to the one point I thought we could all agree on…and that was God alone has the right to make ultimate judgement.

If you want to quote Jesus, then quote him for the two laws he said we should obey:
Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." By the way…he didn't say Love your neighbours as yourself…unless they are Muslim, or homosexual, or blasphemers, or sinners. As you say "He didn't utter one syllable"…about loving certain people and not others. He simply teaches us to Love. That is his message. NEVER does he say we should despise or judge people. ALL THE LAW…hang on these two commandments. ALL.

Even as I type this I regret wasting my time. But I type it in hopes that you can see beyond your own desires to act as God's right hand.
