Have told this story on here once before. But FWIW, my Granny was 100% “brown skin” or Native American. I was always proud of that fact and still am today. My Grandad was English, these were my Mother’s parents.
She had 11 brothers and sisters. About half were all “brown skin” and the other half were fair skinned & blue eyes. The same can be said for about 30 of my cousins on my Mom’s side. I grew up and was related to a bunch of “brown skin” people.
I guess you could say there was some miscegenation going on on that side of the family.
My Dad’s side was all Irish…..so I am 25% “brown skin” it just doesn’t show, it’s white.
I’ve never identified anyone as “brown skin” before until I saw it on here, I thought it was funny and so I used it….nonetheless, it’s an identity, not being derogatory.
The same goes for “boy”, in my neck of the woods, it was always used fondly. Have used the term all of my life, no one has ever corrected me about either term - “brown skin” or “boy”.
It’s not anyones place to, nor yours.

Someone should have corrected you or as an educated man, you should know that a post/thread where a black man broke the record of a known racist is not the post/thread to use the term "boy". Use some emotional intelligence and just avoid that term (in this situation)... but to each it's own.
