"That boy..."

Strom Thurmond, previous record holder after he held the floor for twenty-four hours in protest of civil rights legislation, would be proud of you.

Disgusting.

You know what, you are right.

While the history of white people demeaning and belittling adult black males by referring to them as “boy” is a few hundred years old, I don’t know what’s in your heart when you refer to Senator Booker as “boy”.

My bad. I retract my prior post.

You’ve never been called boy?

Well, guess I’ve been offensive all my life & have lived to tell about it.

Tell me how it’s offensive.
Not going to go there.

Your a Dawg fan, so you should be smart enough to know or know how to look it up.

I will say posts like this one and your other "brown skin" remark shows just a lack of respect. Tongue in cheek or not...

Please. If I did need to work on those issues, you would be the last one to tell me.
Dude - you seem to always want to make a big issue out of race. Nobody is out to get you, as a matter of fact, I do not know nor associate with any racists, never have. Today is a different world, the 60’s and before are over. NGAS about your race or color anymore.

All your grandstanding BS makes you look silly.

Have told this story on here once before. But FWIW, my Granny was 100% “brown skin” or Native American. I was always proud of that fact and still am today. My Grandad was English, these were my Mother’s parents.

She had 11 brothers and sisters. About half were all “brown skin” and the other half were fair skinned & blue eyes. The same can be said for about 30 of my cousins on my Mom’s side. I grew up and was related to a bunch of “brown skin” people.

I guess you could say there was some miscegenation going on on that side of the family.

My Dad’s side was all Irish…..so I am 25% “brown skin” it just doesn’t show, it’s white.

I’ve never identified anyone as “brown skin” before until I saw it on here, I thought it was funny and so I used it….nonetheless, it’s an identity, not being derogatory.

The same goes for “boy”, in my neck of the woods, it was always used fondly. Have used the term all of my life, no one has ever corrected me about either term - “brown skin” or “boy”.

It’s not anyones place to, nor yours.

"Boy" called to a black man has historical significance. You know this.

Someone should have corrected you or as an educated man, you should know that a post/thread where a black man broke the record of a known racist is not the post/thread to use the term "boy". Use some emotional intelligence and just avoid that term (in this situation)... but to each it's own.

Serious question- what was his point? Was this a power play, or just to shine a light on Dem toughness ? I really dont get it.

No one is
Get back on the FN subject
beginning to wonder if they should remove the "boy's" name from the restrooms in elementary, middle schools etc......and what about "girls" - is that offensive too??

some are just looking for a reason to be offended - or, maybe he actually believes it's offensive because he read it somewhere and feels that he should be treated differently. not sure why he is all riled up, pretty sure I didn't call anyone a "boy" in this here thread. maybe just "axing" the question if a poster has ever been called a "boy" set him off...have no idea what color any of y'all are and don't give a FF.

Irony is both were Dems

Your position is that a black Senator from New Jersey, who spoke in defiance of Mr. Trump's administration is apart of the same Democratic Party as a well known racist and segregationist, who wanted to keep calling Blacks "Boy" and continue Jim Crow era laws....

These two people are apart of the same party?

You know that this is 100% inaccurate.

No the Democrats went from middle of the road and are now full fledged Communists now. That’s the difference in the Democrats then and now.

Help me understand how they both didn't belong to the Democrats.

Crazy eyed nutcase…just a power seeking attention grab to become Spkr. An attempt to get Dem support to replace the ever weakening feckless Schumer… so obvious…lol..proved what a nutcase he is in the process!
