Do they have Hallmark and HGTV now for women? If not, that would be a no go for many.

Who thinks the Chat is interested in this conversation for the 30th time?

Chat does not enjoy dumps.

Got a question for you, buddy. I haven't posted on the HOTD in quite a while, but I stop by to lurk occasionally. Saw some posts about Ty Ty having surgery. Always liked him (tried to meet him in Athens on a couple occasions, but it never worked out). I know you post over there. Do you know the details? Did he suddenly become ill? I see references to a heart pump. Does he now have a literal mechanical heart or is this something just assisting his heart after open heart surgery. From what little I can gather, it appears pretty serious. Thanks, man.
He seems to be doing okay .not really sure what led up to his surgery. .

What? I haven't cut the cord, but have definitely come close more than once. I just don't fully trust the internet for live sports (ironically I have DirectTV which can cut out when it sprinkles, but that's a different conversation).

But back to the topic, what is wrong with people exploring ways to save money while receiving a majority of the channels they want?

I think the issue is that you still need internet....then by the time you add on the other services you arent saving that much

Mileage may vary. I found this NOT to be true. Probably just a myth started by the cable companies. I don't fault folks for not leaving cable and being content. Just don't tell me I'm not saving money by doing it.

For the most part, the freedom to go between services is HUGE for us old timers. A lot of people have had only one option for most of their lifetime. YTTV raises their price again? Screw you I'm going to try PSVue.

True, I actually have my own business and work from home (hence why I'm on the vent 24/7 lol). My business separately pays for high speed business internet so I personally do not take into consideration the additional cost of good WiFi that is not bundled with a cable deal.

I'm not mad, I just find it interesting that people say, "you probably won't save that much money", when everyone's situation is different. YYTV is $50/month, no equipment rental costs and I can watch on things I already have, I'm saving over $100 per month, though I did make one time Roku purchases.

Plus a lot of young whippersnappers prefer watching tv online. I find that watching some things on mobile is much more convenient. Not football games mind you. If I'm watching a game on a phone while I move about, I don't trust myself not to throw the phone across the room when Mr. Shaw's Merry Bandits call us for excessive celebration for hi-fiving after a TD.
