Spoke with some sources around Demarcus Riddick yesterday about his recruitment.
The feeling around Chilton County is that this thing is still wide open. One source described it as “wishy washy.” With Clanton located between Birmingham and Montgomery, there are of course Alabama fans all around Riddick encouraging him to flip.
Riddick’s mother is also very important in this. If you’ll recall, his final decision date later this month coincides with her birthday. Mama’s opinion is going to be huge.
Still, the feeling is that no final call has been made. Riddick hasn’t been tipping his hand one way or another.
If you’ll recall, our reporting on Riddick earlier this summer indicated that he was giving Alabama (I don’t believe Auburn is a serious player) one final shot to flip him.
Did that happen? We’ll see. But Riddick is doing a good job of keeping this tight to the vest either way.
