The question was how would a loss impact UGA and Texas. Everyone else was addressing it from an SEC and NC impact.

Howard took a different angle and said there has been an aura of invincibility around UGA for several years, and a loss would begin dismantling that aura and transform UGA into beatable in the minds of our opponents going forward.

And he was spot on. There is a psychological edge we have at this point of our dominance where the other team may have hope, but not belief. The media was starting to chisel away at that status this season. And I agree that aura was at stake in Austin.

The Texas beatdown was huge in ways far beyond the win itself. We reminded everyone of our brand. And Kirby reminded everyone he's the most intense competitor there is among head coaches.

Texas wasn't a win. It was an "oh shit" reminder for the rest of college football.

We're still GEORGIA. Hope isn't a strategy.
