Around 2018-19 or so when we missed on Soloman and Sandige after Quinnen Williams had wrecked our interior OL in the SECC. The "reality" the board had created back then was we would never compete with bama or Clemson and win big until we started signing elite DL like they did. We had George and Dom in the 2019 class, nobody complained about receiver. We just weren't elite until we started cleaning house on blue chip interior DL's.... Then last year happened, TID was already on campus, Bear, Miller, and Washington jumped on board, we are going to pull Jamal Jarrett tomorrow. Nobody has stockpiled as many elite interior DL as UGA the last few years, aTm included. Natty ensued, Jalen Carter is a top 5 pick off the back of 3 first rounders last years on the DL. The board wasn't wrong, it was just wrong about the staff's evaluations.

Now everyone worries about offensive skill talent and not being able to keep up with the big boys off the back of a natty won with a walk-on QB throwing to unranked receivers and Bowers who didn't camp and was underrated. Why did that happen? Because if you're better than everyone on both LOS', then you make the playoff every year. We have a top 3 offensive weapon in college football in Bowers, Gilbert isn't far behind. Ladd, AD, Dom, Arian will be plenty, the OL is going to be the best we've had in a long time, and possibly ever. 14-1/15-0 national champs. Recruiting will be fine.

The point I am making is that if the people here notice, so do the coaches. They're not going to sellout what got the program to the points it's at now though for shiny new toys when they're loaded with veteran toys already integrated as part of the team. When the opportunity for more PT comes along, so will the blue chip commits. Being absolutely loaded 1-85 is the bigger issue with selling UGA to recruits currently. Especially at offensive skill spots. The whole RB room could potentially come back next year, Kearis Darnell, and AG are the only receivers/TE's probably leaving. The top 2 receivers from last years team were a true and redshirt freshmen. This isn't like 2018 where Kirby could sit in living rooms and say "we don't have anyone like you", yeah we do, at every position after 5 straight years of 3k point classes on average. Now it's "come to UGA, bust your butt, and you're good enough to play here, you're guaranteed an NFL draft slot." Bama has more PT to sell right now, as do the NIL schools. Let's see how much that matters come December when the train still hasn't slowed down on the field.
