Agreeance. You have free speech, so does your employer. Your speech is protected, you are not protected from the repercussions of your free speech. The government cant limit your free speech but your employer can.
And if an employer has to lay people off, he should be able to start with the employees with "Obama" stickers on their cars.

No serious person thinks that slavery was the only issue that caused friction between North and South and ultimately led to secession. If one did, you'd be able to cite him. Slavery was THE ONLY ISSUE THAT LED TO THE CIVIL WAR.
There are always ''issues'' between various sects. The notion secondary issues, ( all of which sprang from the slavery issue) caused the war is a reconstruction period fabrication by southern writers and historians.
Southern leaders left no doubt whatsoever what was leading to war at the time events unfolded in the days, months, years and decades leading up to Sumter. It was SLAVERY..PERIOD.

I had employees who went into the homes of customers. I had a very easy dress code that a few simply would not follow. I had to end our association. Making the customer comfortable and confident in those I sent to do the job was a part of my business.

What about in the current environment if you had valued black employees ? There are MANY with CFs on their trucks and cars the past couple of weeks, it is clearly meant as a statement.
Personally I would ban any controversial materials and be done with it.

Yes you would walk your parking lot, If you own a retail bidness your parking lot is part of your office. When your #1 black customer came in complaining about the CFs and the white power stickers in the parking lot, it is no longer whiney crap.

Who said anything about a tag ? I might have missed something in this thread. I'm referring to the big Rebel flags that have been attached to vehicles for the past 2 weeks.
