Interesting. I wonder who is correct? Probably a little of both, but I can’t believe some 80 million 0-18 collect a check. My grandkids don’t (though I wish they could. Only my grandkids, understand?). Auditing the checks from the treasury would be a start, followed by a review of direct deposits. Sounds like a DOGE database error. Sometimes when you link data tables and you get every record, or some majority. If true, it’s a query error that should have been noticed right away.

Correct. I quickly found that in 2020 there were 73M under age 18. Even adding in the 18 years old, there is no way 80M are receiving benefits.

No,you're the joke. FEMA has helped the people after disasters. I have friends who have been sent to areas after hurricanes to help people get their claims taken care of. Because there is some question about where funds went (still a question), should not take away from the good FEMA has done. Sounds like you should go work for Musk since you know all the problems.

There are a lot of fine folks with FEMA, but it's also true that FEMA adds an absurd additional layer of red tape and bureaucratic inefficiency - almost necessarily baked into a federal agency.
Had a long talk with the county manager here in Bay County that oversaw Hurricane Michael issues, he could go on and on about the difficulty (and waste) associated in dealing directly with FEMA that was drastically improved when they could go directly to the state for those funds. (This included getting trailers for under a third the price FEMA billed for the same exact product.)
