Eason to UGA ...have we really sat and thought this out...

I proved to you already he was far from a stat hound his fr and soph seasons 16 tds 5 ints in our 8 biggest regular season games.
He was a bit better overall his final 2 seasons though. he had 62 tds 19ints, 6968 yards and those are the 2 best rated QB seasons in UGA history.

How did he do against ranked teams that year? How did he do against teams that finished with winning records? Poorly, outside of Auburn (1st half specifically.) That is a stat hound. Doesn't matter if its GT or SEC, if they finished with losing records.

I've already proved you wrong, but carry on.

No, you label SEC as a big game, I do not. If an SEC team is 5-7...it isn't a major accomplishment to do well against them. We are 5-21 against SEC teams that finished with records above .500 since 08...so at most, over his career he won 5 games against SEC teams that finished above .500.

The guy was a great college QB who had the misfortune to play at a down time for our defense and special teams. Too bad you seem to need people to blame when the facts are clear.

You're right, the facts are clear, he tore it up, but for 2.5 years, he tore it up against sub .500 teams. The team was putrid on D, but he also didn't play well against the good team he faced. Then UF happened and something happened his junior year. We could run, D made stops, and he had to step up against the then #2 team. He did, and went on to have a great 1.5 years, beating some good teams along the way and performing well against them. Even in losses, he played well, keeping his team in. Then again, your definition of success seems to be...be a good person, accumulate stats against anyone, win 9-10 games....mine and many others is how did you do against the best you played and did you win rings.

He did as well against the best teams as the worst teams, that is all that was in his control. I might pull the stats on his other 3 seasons but I showed factually he had 16 tds and just 5 ints against all SEC opponents, GT and Colorado, the best competition on the schedule his freshman season.
I just don't like ''EXPERTS'' trashing the guy when it's clearly not justified.

He wasn't horrible in that game against SC, just the turnovers, especially the last one....where we had a chance to come down and match SC...only to fumble deep in our own territory. That said, he grew up in a big way that year.
Actually it was the 2nd and the third, he had ULM or ULL first game.
You aren't sure about the UCF game? How long have you been a UGA fan? Liberty Bowl....CMR elected for a field goal early on instead of going on 4th and inches....we didn't score but one more FG. We lost to UCF 10-6.....finished below .500. CMR was on hot seat big time with a lot of people after that year, specifically the UCF game.
He should have been gone then.

No, i don't, i'm being realistic. He was a statistically quite good, but not in big games or against SEC teams that finished with winning records...except for his last 1.5 years. Not surprising given that CMR only beat 5 SEC teams that finished season above 500 since 2008.
Murray took on the personality of his coach...
