Had an awesome trip to Capricorn Studios today and learned a good bit about Macon’s music scene. Met the daughter of Alan Walden and niece of Phil Walden. I always knew that we had some music history in Macon, but didn’t realize it was as deep as it is. Something cool about the studio, studio A, which is the original studio, is in original shape and is still used today exactly how it was used in the 70s. Even 90% of the recording is analogically recorded instead of digitally (they minimally use modern technology just for the ease of certain aspects). Some of the instruments in it are Chuck Leavell’s own instruments that he lets any artist that comes through use to record.

Lastly, a fun fact I learned….Sweet Home Alabama was not about the state, it was about a woman…
