FOX NEWS: 35% of all the components of core inflation are now growing at 5% or faster per year. Peak COVID was at 40%.

Maybe Arabs fall under the category of Semite, but the definition of antisemite is hostility or prejudice against the Jewish people
In a general usage since I can kind of agree, but people call anyone anti Semitic who doesn't support the Iseral governments actions. That is not antisemitism

Then they should have agreed to be a nation and have a national identity instead of waging war and acts of terror. They made a choice to not be a nation. Multiple times. And by the way, the hypocrisy in your statement is that these people fail to recognize Israel and their right to exist
You dont have to agree to be a group of people. They exist. If they didn't exist there wouldn't be a conflict. And what it happening to them is genocide. You support it, that's why you refuse the term, but that's what it is. Genocides don't start in indiscriminate bombings and gas chambers, they end that way. This has been going on for decades and it's finally reached its inevitable conclusion

This is analogous to the Venters who freak out after the first series of a game.
A better analogy would be that we hired a new coach and he built his staff out with unqualified sycophants. The new coach then committed to outmoded schemes that were proven not to work and fans are now expressing concern about the direction of the program.

Nobody calls anyone antisemitic for not supporting every thing Bibi does. Nobody serious at least.

But calling Israel an apartheid state or geneocidal state or making the statements that Israel is to blame for 10/7 (which many people did) chanting “from the river to the sea”(a call for genocide) and numerous other actions over the past few years are antisemitic

Just like you want to sound all smart stating a fact that Arabs are semites, even though you were responding to a statement about Antisemitism, it is also a fact that Palestine IS NOT AND HAS NEVER BEEN a nation
Also, they don't need to have ever been a nation for it to be a genocide. I used the term national identity broadly bc genocides all have different paths and reasons. But denying personhood, what you are doing, is a part of genocide. The Palestinian people exist. And there is currently a genocide happening against them. And it's funded by bipartisan efforts of the US

Ive stated that it doesn't matter if they were a nation or not. It's still a genocide. Having a nation isn't a criteria for genocide. Jews were never a nation in Europe when the Nazis did the Final Solution.

But the UN disagrees with you. They are currently recognized as a state by 75% of UN members.

Iseral by legal definition is an apartheid state. So was the US until 1964. But that's another story.

Amnesty international classifies at one, which is an international watch dog on human rights. Many others do as well.

Here's an article from Human rights watch. Another global humans rights watch dog group.

Where are the inflation clowns now? Still Biden's fault? Just so I'm clear ... are we great again, yet??!! Meanwhile, Dow down another 700 points.

The S&P 500 is down 7.1% since Trump’s January 20th inauguration, and continuing to fall.

Yeah, but that’s only 50% true 33% of the time……..

For a man who hasn’t been president for 90 days you sure are detail oriented.

When you got a whipping from your Dad (you likely didn’t) when you behaved wrongly, it hurt for a moment.

Our sins as leadership are being corrected, much like a whipping.

As a parent, I can wish that bad behavior from my children will just go away, but without correction from the parent, it doesn’t.

And that is our problem. We want government to take care of us. We want to be men when we are girls and girls when we are men.

We don’t want to utilize free education. We would rather be a victim, learn nothing and expect magical salaries or gov assistance to support us.

And all that is more important than fixing the obvious problems with our country.

Thank you Pharm. Thank you for showing us that the screamers whiners and “victims” really are just screamers and whiners.

That was because OPEC decided to liquidate a bunch of oil right before global demand went down. If you have an abnormal increase supply and decrease of demand at the same time it'll bring g prices down. That was a once in a lifetime event though.
No, that’s because demand literally dried up.

Also, coming back in a football game, especially under Kirby, is a completely different reality than recovering from a global rescission. All the while you are alienating all of your economic allies. There's no comparison between the two.

So, telling them to play by the same rules is alienating them? Interesting economic theory, Professor.

Completely torching our relationship with Canada for no good reason is going to go down as one of the dumbest moves by a POTUS in the last one hundred years.

Agressive negotiations are one thing, repeatedly insulting our long term ally with this 51st state bullshit is going to take years to overcome.

I don’t see a Fox News link, I see a Reddit link and they are the most left wing group out there

Not just Canada. The EU as well. We're heading down a path of one ally, Iseral. Who can do **** all to help us with anything.

Yesterday, Vance confirmed that Trump wants Greenland and one way or the other we are going to get it. The fact that we have been in a formal military alliance with Denmark for eighty years is immaterial.

That and our stance toward Canada are so entirely unhinged that it’s difficult to put words to the situation. But it is all OK because Trump is supposedly a genius negotiator, which he isn’t. Study his business history and look at the number of times he has been bailed out by others and how every one of his side business have failed.

I really hope you're under the age of 30.
I’m not, but your ignorance indicates you are. You have no clue what genocide is, just as you have no clue what fascism is. Real genocide is occurring right now in central Africa, but I don’t see you nancies bitching about that. Go wash your pajamas.

Canada is not a friend. They are a neighbor. I am French Canadian/new Englander. USA used to have a wool suit business, SIGNED NAFTA, Canada was able to gain leverage, buy OUR industry, then conveniently close it.

Canada owns steel mills in the USA, gains an advantage in Buy American procurement, but somehow there’s always an excuse why they have to fabricate in Canada. They just seem friendly. Who didn’t like John Candy?

What do the Romans have to do with the definition of Semite?
You used the term Palestine, which isn’t a country and never was. It was a name used by the Romans to demean the Jews….which makes it kind of antisemitic. Which makes your post either ironic or hypocritical. Not sure yet.

It's a fascist personality cult. Truth has no meaning anymore. For the vast majority of them Trumps word is right. Even when he's contradicting himself.

I believe that the true MAGA faithful love the idea of right-wing fascist state and the non-MAGA Trump voters are some combination of ignorant of history and/or believe that American exceptionalism means it couldn’t ever happen here.

What they don’t understand is that we have a long history of flirting with authoritarianism and of course it could happen here. Some of those voters are beginning to realize what they actually voted for and polling suggests the realization is not a positive one.

I think it's a variety of factors as well. There are people here on the chat that are hard line fascists. But there are a lot of people that support fascism bc fascism is an inherently populist movement. It's the worst form of populism, but one unique element is that it primarily arises out of democracies that are failing to provide basic needs to it's citizens. In comes in a strong man who promises to fix everything, sometimes even "day one," and uses democracy against itself to get rid of it entirely.

Most of the people who supported the nazis, citizen wise, didn't support the holocaust. Most didn't even know it was happening. Censorship was massive in Germany at the time.

But I do agree that there is also a huge portion of people who don't understand the early stages of fascism, they only understand the end stages. If they don't support mass killings of jews, they don't support fascism. But that's just not how things work. It's a slow process of democratic and ethical norms getting pushed progressively further and further off a cliff where it eventually leads to death camps. If you're just a regular person not too invested in the current moment, especially from a historical or international prospective, you don't really notice how far things change bc it's slow, and it's not too abrupt to shock the system and affect you in any material way. So life just keeps trucking on until it affects them is a significant and meaningful way.

The the final solution is called the FINAL solution for a reason. Nazi Germany didn't start with gas chambers it ended with them.

Another common theme is that it’s always someone else’s fault and only one man can solve the problems.

Everyone associates Nazis and the Jews, for good reason, but Hitler’s list of those responsible for Germany’s woes was much longer than that. Social Democrats (Germany’s moderate party) and Weimar politicians, Gypsies, disabled people, LGBTQ, communists, Slavs, the UK and France, even the US, were all vilified and blamed for every ill. It’s absolutely core to fascism.

Do I need to even bother documenting Trump’s list? The courts, the DOJ and FBI, the CIA, the Dems, immigrants, Canada, Denmark, NATO, Ukraine. I could go on.

Interesting that Russia and Putin don’t seem to be anywhere on Trump’s list.

I really like Umberto Eco's 14 signs of Fascism.

1. The cult of tradition.
2. The rejection of modernism
3. The cult of action for action’s sake.
4. No analytical criticism.
5. Fear of difference.
6. Appeal to a frustrated middle class.
7. Obsession with a plot.
8. Anti-elitism.
9. Pacifism is trafficking with the enemy
10. Contempt for the weak.
11. The cult of heroism.
12. Machismo.
13. Selective populism.
14. Ur-fascism speaks Newspeak.

Here is a link to the article that gives a bit more detail.

I had a whole paragraph plus typed on the Nazis and trans people but my damn browser glitched and deleted it. Maybe another day bc I gotta get moving. lol

Trump and his boys/girls are total amateurs. And they apparently hate our country the way he is running it into the ground. Trump is so un-presidential. It is truly embarrassing that DJT is the President of the USA. If his lips are moving you know he is lying - a lying piece of sh.t in my opinion.

I think better and more detailed analogies are available.

How bout firing the worst coach in our history. Brought in by people who were too blind to see he didn’t know where he was and shit on himself daily. After four straight years of losing records and being fired during a mutiny from his own assistant coaches, the program decided wholeheartedly a change was needed.

New coach comes in. Realizes his roster is a clusterf. His team culture has been deteriorating because his players have been taught men can have babies. He realizes the massive amount of work needed to fix the program is even bigger than he imagined. Thanks the the previous morons leading it. The first year head coach almost always struggles. As he tries to undo all the unbelievably insane ideas put in place by the previous coaches. Second year on the job things get better as they weed out the bad apples and people willing to spend more money on phone chargers than better players.

Or economics and politics on a global scale don't relate to football?

We don't give arms to Israel. We sell it to them.

But this is why Ds are getting crushed. They're doing it to themselves.

  • Memorandum of Understanding (MOU): In 2016, the U.S. and Israel signed a ten-year MOU, pledging $3.3 billion annually in FMF grants from 2019 to 2028. This agreement underscores the U.S. commitment to Israel's qualitative military edge in the region.Wikipedia
  • Emergency Aid Packages: Beyond the MOU, the U.S. has provided additional military aid in response to escalating security challenges. For instance, in April 2024, Congress approved $14.3 billion in emergency military assistance to Israel amid heightened tensions.

Yeah, we "sell" them military hardware, but we give them money to buy the hardware. Nice try
