Miami is going to be a very tough program to rebuild.
Not only do they not have an IPF, they might not get one in the next 5 years or more.
Then there's the off campus stadium, the low fan support, few boosters, etc, etc.
Richt has to start by out-recruiting what Miami has in a long time. It's been 10 years since They've even averaged being in the top 20.
The more I look, the more I think CMR should have either sat out a year or taken The Virginia job. UV isn't exactly a sleeping giant, but they have the resources to win beyond what they have been used to.

Don't be so defensive, I hope Richt is successful, but You know as well as anybody the structural problems Miami has.
They had fans like rappers have fans. They never had the core base like older schools do.
We have 5 Rings with Shit Facilities. It doesn't matter down south. It's all about the recruiting. We have been losing the best players in Dade and Broward for many years now to FSU, UF, Bama, and Ohio State. That will now end. They will still get theirs, but they won't be getting Dade and Broward County's finest on a regular basis like they have been. The HighSchool coaches did not want to send their kids to Golden/Dinofrio. They are now gone.
And wow 2001 had no idea wow Miami is just a great program. Stop get your head out of the past you let your program go to heck because of your buddy system

U of Miami is a private school with 10,000 undergraduates, averaging 14-16 students per class. The university gets no money from the state of Florida, unlike FSU and UF. U of Georgia has 28,000 students and receives approximately $1.5 billion from the state of Georgia annually. Instead of attacking this university, you need to understand how truly amazing how this small private school won 5 NC's in football. The academics at the U are near the top and the school has no Physical Education classes that most state schools place their football players. In the case of Alabama, Oklahoma and Florida, they hide their players in Underwater Basketweaving! lol
On the other hand, I respect the academics of Georgia, which is more highly rated than most other SEC schools, with the exception of Vanderbilt.
Richt will do good at Miami , the fact Virginia ,Maryland , South Carolina , and Miami all showed interest is a sign people still thinks he can coach and recruit.. He has a chance to impact early in the coastal ..
