Early signs Gator:
TOS journalists are saying that they’ve been told that Billy Napier will be staying. Other insiders on the board are saying that they’ve been told there may even be a small extension for him and Stricklin.

A statement will be coming out soon (what that means, I don’t know) to stop the rumors and save the class somewhat.

Fake News Gator: This is all coming from the same old people who claim that the coaches never going to get fired even on the day that they get fired.

Emoji Gator:

Believe when I see it Gator: they don't have a clue what they're talking about. These next 4 games are his do or die. 0-4 or 1-3 pretty much dooms him and that's from the UAA this week. If we lose, it's one thing. Lose real bad to end the season and he's on life support. If he runs the table or goes 3-1, absolutely no doubt Stricklin will fight for him and scream progress. Beyond that, we don't know anything because the singular person making the ultimate decision has been silent.

Defund the football program Gator:

If this is the case, I hope not a single person gives money to this dump of a program....the same people who are crying about people not donating are the same ones who think Billy deserves more time for playing programs "close"....bunch of moral victory losers...

**** every single one of them. **** Fuchs, **** SS, **** that retarded ass inbred coach we have. Burn the mother****er down.

"Just increased my Zoloft dosage" Gator:

This even being a ****ing rumor is depressing

Time for a college football sabbatical Gator:
Yeaaaaah, sorry but I’m out until everybody is fired if Billy is brought back. The buyout was raised and he should’ve been fired after the A&M game. Injuries aren’t an excuse for how we looked against DaEw and OilU. Not to mention we lost to Tinerc because of Billy.

They really don’t care about winning because apparently losing by two touchdowns to Jawja deserves a pat on the back.

15 years is more than enough to put up with.

And the Scott Stricklin message drops

Silver Lining Gator:
This is actually a good thing. He should be able to keep our horrible recruiting class from leaving.

Moe Howard Gator: And I am done until both of these stooges are gone. We’ve put up with enough.

The funds have dried up Gator:
Boosters not paying another asinine buyout? Who decided to give a Sunbelt coach a $51 million dollar contract anyway?

The spin will be great team chemistry, injuries, winning several participation trophies this year so far. Blah, blah!

Bandwagon Gator:

My email in response

I promise, when I hear an objective standard (and we hold to it) or we win a championship, I'll be back as a '96er. However, celebrating 3 wins against winning teams gives me only one real way to protest and I hate that if a lot of us do it it will impact the non-football players.

Resistance Gator: We need a march like Tenn fans did after the Shiano hire

Hope Gator: Just heard from a Gainesville attorney Bull who said SS put this out because the coaching staff have been crying the last 2 weeks that no recruit will come visit or schedule any in-home visits during the bye week 2 weeks ago because they're all stating they don't want to commit to the program because of the players whispering about the coaching staff and because Billy is on the hot seat. This was to provide security, but does not guarantee what happens end of season if we lose out.

Small minority Gator: Great move. Had to be done to help his recruiting and before the transfer portal opens up to retain players and get new ones. Give the man his 4 years. Fans bad mouthing him while are free to do so, have not helped anything.

Acceptance Gator: Agree. Had to be done. No one better to hire and I am proud of the players,

Truth Gator: Watch how happy our rivals are with the announcement. That’ll be telling. And while we are at it ( and this is not in ANY WAY critical of your post), I’d bet the average fan has no idea we have the worst recruiting class we have had in any least 30 years, and no real path to substantively improve it with consistent 4* talent.

Horns Up! Texas Fight! Gator: Will Strickland change his mind after a blowout this weekend?

Mrs. Childers Gator:
It has been idiotic, and I mean IDIOTIC, to think Billy was going to get fired this season. This season has *never* been about wins and losses. It has *always* been about progress, and the progress has been impressive.

Too many people on this board are embarrassing themselves with ridiculous nonsense given the changing nature of college football *AND* our record of firing coaches since Urban. We need to support *this* man because he has clearly established a proper culture. I was stunned to see Ali Peek the other day talking yang about wins and losses in order for him to keep his job.

What !?!?

Hush up that nonsense. This is not college football from a decade ago. Player sentiment is *MUCH* more important these days given that you have to recruit those on your current roster *every* year. When you have a phenom at Quarterback, and we have one, you are a FOOL if you're talking about firing a coach he loves. Ali said player buy-in isn't the determinant. This year? It damn sure is.

We've got the right coach. Stop talking all this stupid yang about him.

Go Gators

"Need to beat Kentucky in recruiting" Gator: In my (probably unique) opinion, Billy has a better chance of truly turning it around next year than we do of "finding the right guy" this year... So I guess it's good we do this now and try to salvage the recruiting, which I'm confident he will. And by salvage, I mean get us to around 20th. I do like knowing who our coach will be for next season, so there's that!
