Georgia born, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, 100, dies

Good man. Was the wrong man to lead the country.

His intentions were honorable, yet he played into the hands of those who desired to destroy us.

While Christ asks us to give it all away and follow him, He never said take it from others and give it away. The gov in the benevolence business doesn’t work.

A kind man. Had a chance bro meet he and Rosalyn in Lawrenceville when he was running for governor. It was an honor.

Certainly no great loss for our nation, he was a terrible president!

Won't be shocked to hear some Dim speak at Carter's service say.........................

"He told me one of the greatest honors in his life was to cast his vote for Kamala Harris."

3rd worst POTUS behind Biden and Obama.

Seemed to be a generous and caring human outside of politics.

Why didn’t Iran release the hostages when Carter was in office? I was young at the time but seem to remember Reagan threatening to turn Iran into a parking lot.
Ayatollah just didn't like Carter. He released the hostages when Reagan took the oath on January 20th. He just likes Ronnie's movies. Just a coincidence. NOT! My father in law was an Army Officer at Fort Knox that day. He said several trucks loaded with gold bars left that day. He wasn't sure where they went, they just left.

A human being passed. A man who gave to others greatly.

I did not support his decisions as President, but when a human being, a President dies, it is a loss for our nation. His heart was servitude, for that he earned my respect and should be respected by us.

Let’s keep this in perspective.

Then delete your previous post crapping on him because of politics. You don’t want to have to defend that kind of bullshit at the Pearly Gates. On his worst day, Jimmy Carter was the kind of Christian that we should all aspire to be.

He never met a dictator that he didn't like & admire! Also, he had very liberal & socialist beliefs. The good Lord may let him into heaven ,but he shouldn't be!
He never met a dictator that he didn't like & admire..................Putin, .....

Kim Jong Un

..........Orban.

Xi Jinping.

Jimmy Carter sent them "love notes"?

He never said take it from others and give it away.........TRUE, but look at the Acts of the Apostles for how the men who walked with Jesus acted. Jesus never said don't take from others. Taxes take from all. What would Jesus do with some of that money?

Knew some of his family. All good people. Met him once when I was an 8th grader. He was very nice to my mother. He wasn’t much of a president, but he more than made up for that over his amazing career. A human being to aspire to be

Absolutely. This is the correct reaction to his passing.

You are so pious, so arrogant about your own beliefs, that you are comfortable questioning Jimmy Carter’s character and Christianity on the day he died … disgusting.
Who questioned his Christianity?

I made a statement on his decisions as President. I also stated his heart was to care. But it did not serve us well as a country.

He was a fine man, loving father and husband. He should be respected for that alone.

Sorry you felt I insulted a liberal. You seem to be tone deaf politically.

Im a liberal and I honestly don’t think Potimus’s prior post was in poor taste, he simply acknowledged his disagreement with him politically. It wasnt at all like some of the others on here that were truly tone deaf and embarrassing.

Good conversation. Jesus would have never taxed anyone. We were to give willingly and sacrificially.

Thanks for this. My point wasn’t to attack President Carter, but the system he was a part of. Benevolence sold politically is folly. So my post got off the rails.

President Carter gave his life to others every day willfully. I have great respect for that. Politically, we were at odds.

Thanks MR.

His niece was a friend of mine in hs. She was older, but they lived at the local golf course. She was as nice a person as you ever could meet. Used to bring us lemonade when she would see us coming thru. Awesome person.

Jimmy spoke at her graduation. I shook his hand and met him then. My mother talked to him for ten minutes. We have a picture of the two of them on our fridge. Back then it was an honor to meet any president. No matter his ideology. My folks are as maga as maga can be too. They have a framed picture autographed of Trump on the kitchen table. lol. From donations. Still have President Carter’s picture on the fridge however as well.

Jimmy Carter was an absolutely horrendous president.

However, he was the last agrarian politician and the last from the old planter class and it makes me sad those guys no longer exist.

But for all of Carter’s faults and general horribleness (see Rhodesia), Reagan did immense damage to the conservative movement and to the southern democrats. He managed to convince millions of southerners that large corporations (including bankers) are our friends and he convinced millions of Americans that Bill Buckley conservatism was the way to go. Without Reagan we don’t get George H Bush, horrendous Supreme Court picks and the 1991 civil rights amendment (if you want to know why woke is a thing it was this).

If Carter wins in 1980 the opportunity for an actual right wing president like Buchanan increases and the southern democrat party is probably not destroyed at the national level. With an intact southern democrat party, the South actually retains national political power.

All in all Reagan was horrible in the long run.
