"Misery" is what my inlaws all called their Show Me state when I first met the whole gang. And so it's been, mostly in winter.
This past weekend we were headed up to Kirksville, MO, from Columbia. My first time up yonder. Rode past Macon, then Atlanta, then Cairo. Along the way I saw several signs pointing me towards Jacksonville. What the.... ?? These folks around here don't seem to originate any town names. There's a Cuba; California; Paris; Warsaw; Mexico; Washington; Lincoln; Brunswick; Bowling Green; Kingston; Miami; Carrollton; Springfield; Chesapeake; Belfast...... yada yada.
But that drive up to Kirksville did make me nostalgic for home.
