Good morning Dawg brothers and sisters !! **

good morning JohnnyBee. Howard Schultz is a

douche bag. LOL at the coffee name. They need a national campaign for introducing the Racial Harmony French Roast. They could copy that old Coca Cola ad where all those people were holding hands and singing the stupid song on the Italian hillside.

mornin' EufaulaDawg. Only thing going on here is

church and then the rest of the day in TV sports. Have a great day.

Good morning, Uncle ...

I am tied for 176th place out of 229 entries in the dawgvent pool. My hoops acumen is next to none.

Ordered that Patti Smith book yesterday. Also ordered some occult history shit Johnny recommended, a book called Ghost Wars which is about our involvement in Afghanistan since the 60's, a book about Phenix City, and last but not least, Pimp, by Iceberg Slim. I'm a very slow reader (if I want to actually grasp it all), so those should keep me occupied for awhile. Less than $50 for all those through Amazon. didn't think that was bad at all.

I am looking forward to the Phenix City book. When I was young, my Dad just pounded it into me not to go across that border into Phenix City. He said "stay out of Alabama, you've got no business over there". He was right, of course. However, I found out recently from my mother that when they started dating and he would bring her and others home to BV, that they often crossed the border and that his knowledge of all the places and his ease in getting around over there spooked her a little. I guess he was warning me from vast experience.

Let those cats go outside, Johnny ...

LOL. JK. You probably live somewhere where they will be eaten. I took a feral one in and she doesn't have a litter box. I saw her around the hood running wild for at least a year so I figure she's savvy, although they are coyote lunch all over the outskirts of Athens. My brother lives on the outskirts and they just had one disappear on them.

I like cats. But our 3 split a third can of food in the am. Smells almost as good

As Livermush. One day I might let them try Livermush, but I'm afraid they'd eat nothing else. There's not enough Livermush in this world for both me and them. I draw the LINE at Livermush. The Livermush is mine.

But they eat dry food the rest of the day. And they split a big bowl of water twice a day. Drink it dry. And the 3 of them produce a good 10 pounds of poop and clumped litter....every single day. Some clumps of pee litter are bigger than a softball. And if you don't keep EM scooped they get pissed and don't want to use the BOX anymore. They are sweet as can be....as long as you play by their rules. You WILL wake up when they say, or they will get your ass up.

And when you eat sardines in the den while watching tv, the little one will paw you and purr so loud you can hear him in Tennessee until you give him some. He feels entitled to any sardines you may have. He is very aggressive about his sardines. His name is Pawley, because wife grabbed him as a dehydrated kitten while he was sleeping under the beach house at Pawleys Island. The other 2 have no interest in sardines. The 17 year old cat with torn ACL still loves to kill moles in the yard and bring them to the back door. That has been a plus.

They are outside for hours a day.

The youngest is also the biggest and is nothing but a psychopath murderer. Wife doesn't like that one to go out because her specialty is killing baby birds that wife attracts. Tons of birds out back. Cat sits and watches all day. At every jail break, she lights out like a damn jaguar straight to a nest and turns the whole place into Sandy Hook. I think that cat is a whore, too. If she gets out at night, she comes home exhausted the next am, but very satisfied with herself. The other cats run over and smell her butt, and then she sleeps ALL day.

She is the only one not feral. They all 3 have survived for years outside.

No matter how much they go out, we still get 10 pounds of litter to scoop per day.

why don't you just let them do their business outside? ..

Mine has never gone inside that I know of and she will stay in forever when the weather is bad. When it is time to go, she'll let me know and she will head out, no matter the weather outside. She stays out for about 5 minutes and then claws on the door to come back in. I'm not f'n with a damn litter box. I've got to go clean my mom's cat's litter box all next week while mom is out of town -- I can't stand it. We probably had 10 cats growing up and never had litter boxes for them. Does that make me a bad pet owner?

mornin' _Keef_. I think you'll like the Patti Smith book. It's

very good. The introduction will seal the deal about reading it. Let me know how Ghost Wars goes. I'm half way through Pimp. It's a fun read. You'll laugh out loud almost every page. It has a urban dictionary in the back or you will never know WTF he's talking about. I sent 12 years going to Phenix City every 2 weeks working. It's another world just across that river. Is that the book about Gen Patton (or was it Bradley) that took that tank over there and aimed it at that notorious whore house ?
The soldiers over at Ft Benning used to say you could get "blewed, screwed, and tatooed for $20 in Phenix City"
I have the link JohnnyBee posted yesterday about Iceberg Slim in case you missed it..

Do they bring home rats they killed and leave them on the

back step so you can step on them the first thing in the morning ? We had a big old orange one that did that all the time. I hated that cat. Lived to be about 40 years old too.

I had thought you felt that way about Livermush ever since you learned

from the festival that Livermush can only be prepared correctly on a griddle,

I've seen the Iceberg Slim movie -- it made the premium channel ..

rounds a few months ago on my cable. Here is the link to the Phenix City book. Not sure how much detail they go into on the Patton story, but it looks like an interesting read. There is a 1950's movie about Phenix City that comes on TCM every once in awhile. Can't remember the name of it. It was a B movie for sure, but pretty good.

Woof....

It's still morning at 11:54 so I made the good morning post.

Great day yesterday

Baseball beat Vols

Softball sweeps doubleheader against Hawgs.

Women's Tennis beats Vols.

Georgia 5th at Gym SEC's

Lady swimmers 2nd at National Championships. In the last 17 years, Georgia has finished first or second at the national meet 14 times.

Men golf in 4th at Linger Longer only 7 shots back.

Track got 12 wins in track meet against lesser schools.

My nightly nugget just sits there.

I bet that book is very good. Margaret Anne Barnes is

a great writer. I read Murder in Coweta County several years ago. I was born in Newnan and my parents were good friends with her. She brought my father a signed copy of the book when she was passing through WR when the book first was released. I may get it just for that reason.

The movie you're talking about was probably The Phenix City Story..

Confucius say: Man who have cats with no litter box have stinky carpet

We aren't home all day to let them out whenever they need to pee.

It was and I have read Murder in Coweta County but did ..

connect it. Doubly glad I bought it now. Johnny Cash was good in that Murder in Coweta County 80's (or was it 70's) TV movie. Every once in awhile, a TV movie would be damn good.

mornin' Top Row. Thanks for the update. Good stuff

going on yesterday. Also the girls swimming has two wins and two seconds in the last 4 years at the Championship. U of Cal has the same record.. Great rivalry going on.

That TV movie was filmed mostly in Zebulon Ga and I

watched some of the filming being done. Lot of locals involved. Some also in Monticello and Griffen.
