The Lambert supporters keep pointing out that Virginia's OL and running game were terrible. But Matt Johns has the same supporting cast around him that Lambert does and he beat out Lambert for the starting job heading into 2015.
I'm not very familiar with Virginia's offense, but how much did the offensive system factor into Matt Johns winning the job over Lambert? I thought I had read somewhere that Virginia was doing a lot of read-option type stuff (which we don't do much of). So maybe Virginia's system played more to Matt Johns' strengths. I'm basically just trying to come up with reasons as to why Lambert didn't succeed at UVA but will at UGA (other than lack of supporting talent). Thoughts?
