What I mean is, I believe that that NIL is destroying fundamentals and skills of the sport. Just listen for a minute! In the past the ticket for these kids was to work hard play hard on Saturday be a good teammate and get to the league, they didnt have hardly any money, everything they had and did was paid for by the university. Now these players have money and nice things, this gives them more that they can do when they are not playing football, they can go out more they can date more, they can buy more cool stuff to screw around with. The money is a distraction, why stay late and watch film and perfect your craft when you are making money already and you want to go out and play and spend your money?

Years ago I was running a business that recruited college students as sales people, Ben Watsons wife was my assistant manager. We had a kid last name was Fields he was a DB I think he wanted to work with us but he didnt have any money for his kit and ultimately didnt have the time to commit to working. Ben told me there were ncaa rules in place about players making money and also the fact that they had only a tiny window of being free enough to work so it was pretty much a lost cause, he said "regular students want to be like football players and football players want to be like regular students" meaning they just want to be able to go out and have money to take a date out etc. I tell you this because these players really didnt have the means to have as many distractions, football was their life and they eat sleep and breathe the game so they can make money some day. Today we have Carson Beck partying it up in South Beach the off week before a revenge game and the biggest game of the year, this never would have happened without these kids having all this money and means. Beck proceeded to have 5 turnovers in the game.

This season was the first season under Kirby that the team didnt get better as the season went on. Almost every season UGA has improved after the off week before florida and peaked at the right time late in the year. This year we didnt get any of that. Fundamentals were awful, we had drops, picks, fumbles and people running down the field with the ball on the wrong side of their body, and penalties galore. Coaches were coaching them to do the right thing all season, maybe even harder than ever which is what Radi has told us, yet they continued to make the same mistakes all season.

It's becoming clear that some of these players enjoy what their NIL money can give them and the things that they can do with it more than they love football, this didnt used to be the case.
