last week. Has spread to his liver and lymph nodes. About the worst news a person can get. I can't imagine how his wife is going to cope with this. Felt like I was kicked in the gut when I was told. He's gonna get treatment at Emory. The harsh reality is that there really is no treatment when it's so advanced. This is absolutely horrible. Prayers are always welcome. That's about all that can be done I think.

Say when.

Prayers for him and his family. Lost two friends in one year from that

Crap.
Cancer so sucks

Two shows ago 60 minutes did a piece on Duke treating cancer patients

with an altered polio vaccine. Has worked for some and not for others depending on the dosage. Worked for tough ones like lung and pancreatic cancer as well. Don't know if any of the ones treated had spread though.

Can only work on single tumors. His has spread to multiple tumors. They

found over 30 in his liver.

Say when.

That one got my mother. She was only 63. It took her so fast I barely got

home to Georgia in time to see her. This was back in 2006. They had misdiagnosed it as diabetes and by the time they caught it, it was way too late. The doc told me it was in her liver and kidneys and she could have 6 weeks or 6 months, but she didn't even last 6 days after that conversation. Bad stuff!

Thats terrible. I am surprised Emory agreed to even try

to treat it. I have heard of them sending people home to enjoy the rest of their time on earth. I would like to think that if I was dealt the same cards I would be strong and stay away from the horrible treatments considering the low survival rate...but no one really knows what they will do once the Grim Reaper is standing over your back I suppose.

Bad. 6-12 weeks prolly. Get him some weed & papers. He'll thank you! ***
