After being the most painfully average team since the ECF run a few years back, Hawks have won 7 of the last 8 with with 5 of those wins coming against really good teams.
They also advanced to the semifinals of the NBA cup, which doesn’t seem to actually matter but is still kind of fun.
The team’s playing great right now. They just had to get healthy. JJ continues to be great. Hunter may have finally broken out. Okongwu is becoming more of a presence and Trae is dishing the ball better than anyone since prime Stockton. Risacher has shown flashes.
I think they have a real shot to be a 3-5 seed this year
