My son’s name is Sonny (9years old), which I just learned was Kirby’s fathers name. I didn’t know this prior to the other day.
I lost my father this past July, and I couldn’t focus on anything leading up to that day, nor for many days, even today after my dad’s passing. To think that our coach had his fathers situation on his mind while marching our Dawgs out in the field against ND is just mind blowing to me.
I am honored to share my birthday with CKS, and more honored that my son shares the name of CKS’s late father.
It’s just more than a game to me, and my Dawgs teach me something new about myself constantly.
