Why would Netanyahu do that? He's going to Washington to pick up his welfare check from Uncle Sam.
Is that a bad thing? Seems to me we elected a president that promised our citizens more welfare.

The lunatic fringe Fever Swamp has a fanboy crush on Israel that blinds them to some disturbing facts. For one thing, Russia and Israel have a very close relationship, perhaps closer than the relationship between the US and Israel. Don't believe me? I would be honored to live in Israel, but I have a civic duty to help the US regain it's proper place in the world (a respected leader and caretaker of all things good).
How do you right wing conservatives propose to do that when you don't want to pay the taxes necessary to accomplish those goals? I think most conservatives talk a good game about their civic duty to help the US regain its proper place in the world, but if it involves more than buying a "Support the Troops" magnet for their SUV, they don't want to hear about it. Certainly conservatives are not willing to pay Cold War-era tax rates to put the US on the military and economic footing it was on in 1960.
Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, I gladly pay my FAIR share of taxes but look at the billions that are unaccounted for each year by a supersize government that has the right hand unaware of what the left hand is doing. Solyndra, obamacare, cash for clunkers, Gmc,Chrysler bailouts, wall street bailouts. These are all examples of how my and your tax dollars have been wasted and pissed away. You wonder why I don't want to pay more than is required? Next time you buy an item are you going to pay 3-4 times the cost because it makes you a good citizen? I also believe in helping those that are willing to help themselve, I refuse to give to those that tell me I owe them. That means you're going to have to double the size of the US military from its current estimated force level of about 1.4 million to the Cold War-era level of 3 million. Those soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines all need beans, bullets, and paychecks, so you'll have to increase defense spending from the 2015 budget level of $700 billion to $1.4 trillion. How do you conservatives propose to raise that money? Since the 1980s, you've forced those of us who serve at the point of the spear to fight your wars on the cheap. Say whatever you want about LBJ, but he made sure the troops in Vietnam got A rations in the field and the best of everything in terms of ordnance, transport, and logistic support.

You are right, but you wouldn't know that based on comments from the Fever Swamp claiming Obama is "gutting" the military. Defense spending under Obama is higher than it was under W.
The spending may be more, but it is not going to help the soldiers. Look at the VA scandal, that is disgusting they of all people should be receiving the best and quickest care of anyone. The senate and congress should give their healthcare programs to the current military and veterans as well. We have seen that the money obama spends does not go to the cause it was meant for. obama makes Imelda Marcos look like a fiscally conservative politician. You are barking up the wrong tree if you are worried about spending money wisely.
Veteran disability spending has close to doubled since Bush left office. V.A. spending has increased close to 80% in that period.
I know Congress has a lot to do with it, but You can't blame Obama on one hand and credit Congress on the other.
I agree that the veterans and current soldiers deserve the BEST regardless of who gets the credit for it. I just know from past experience that obama spends foolishly and does not really care for the military. It is appalling that any of our soldiers have to wait for healthcare. I bet moochelle would not have to wait in line with the rest of the unwashed masses. It is not about how much is spent but how wisely it is spent and applied. Look at the board of education classic example of throwing more money at a problem and getting worse results.

W actually spent time with the soldiers after he was done serving his time in the White House. He did care for the soldiers and the issues were not present or discovered under W's reign. Obama sees the military as a threat to his power.

Don't go the "voting against tax increases" as your argument. I pay my taxes as a citizen, but I will not vote on another tax increase ever and want my government to spend to revenues only. Balance the budget.

Yes there are, we have special forces all over the Mid-East and North Africa. We also use far more air re-con and that takes highly trained personnel and very expensive operations centers. Maybe you need to read The WSJ and NYTs. They are far better than the far right news letters you likely get your ''information'' from.
