Don’t mean to be redundant but wasn’t on the board during the game. What an awesome young dude who hustles his ass off every time he’s on the floor. Typically a top 100 PF who plays really well down the stretch of his freshman year would be in line to start/get a ton of minutes his sophomore year. Obviously a unique situation with an NBA kid coming in and taking his spot this year, yet this kid just keeps playing hard as hell every minute he gets. South Carolina had a few moments where they could’ve cut into the lead tonight but they just couldn’t stop Dylan James on either end.
He already had the huge couple plays against St. John’s and now came up huge in a game we absolutely needed. Love this guy.
P.S. Considering we struggle to rebound it at times despite our size and athleticism, wouldn’t mind a few minutes of Asa + DJ in the frontcourt moving forward. Stretches the defense in a way our other frontcourt pairs don’t (if our offensive coaching knows how to take advantage of it) and gives the defense the ability to switch a lot of stuff if needed.
