Here's the challenge:
I live in NE Alabama. Let's say for this exercise, the starting point is the Adairsville exit off 75. I have to get to Athens for a game. For family reasons, I can't leave my house Friday afternoon until the absolute worst time for traffic purposes. I come to games in an RV, which obviously affects speed. So far, we've stuck to 2 main routes:
My wife's preferred route is down 75, across the top of 285, up 85 to 316. Spaghetti Junction to 316 is absolutely brutal at the time we go through. We've come close to divorce over this.
My preferred route is down 75 to Hwy. 20 towards Canton to 369, to 53. Get on 85 in Braselton, shoot down 129. There are a lot of bottlenecks and lights, but every now and then, you catch it just right.
Both ways suuuuuck. I've thought about taking 27 down to I-20 and coming up 138 through Conyers, but it seems dumb to go that far south just to come north again.
Any thoughts?
