We'll have 3 of 247's national top 5 recruiters from 2014. All 3 have been national recruiter of the year at some point in their careers, that's Kirby, McClendon and Napier, McClendon was their NROY in 2014.
While Napier has been an OC and he seems to be on Kirby's list of candidates, I'd prefer we hire Helton and offer BN a huge amount of money to be a position coach, he's coaching receivers at Bama and He's coached TEs, RBs and OC in the past. Billy is making 400K as receivers' coach now, so He won't be cheap. If McGarity won't bump him up to 550/600K he should be skinned.

Richt will go hard after McClendon; I hope we keep him. Georgia looks like the more stable job for him.

I'm sure Richt will want Brian, but UGA is his Alma Mater and his family is far closer to Athens than South Miami.
McGarity and the rest of Our purse keepers are key.

Napier was at Clemson , he was the OC for a couple of years , he is very knowledgable bout the game , but we really just we're not very good talent wise ..He was our best recruiter during that time , but Bama came calling .. He was a QB at furman .. He knows every hs coach in sc, NC,and Ga .. I think he is the one that got Spiller..

He also killed it with some high profile kids out of Georgia while at Clemson. The fact He's gone from OC to a lesser position is curious though.
I think We're going to have Our first #1 recruiting class, if not in 2016, soon.

He took over OC when Tommy and Rob Spence were fired . He did it the rest of that season and all of the nxt ..I bet Bama paid him more as a position coach than we did as a OC..

His alma mater and the place his dad played ball. McClendon has red/black in his genes.

I taught his dad back in the day. Willie was and I assume still is a fundamentally decent human being. i wouldn't say that about all athletes. Suddenly I feel very old.

I wonder how Willie is doing? I haven't heard anything in quite awhile.

Actually heard from a very good source, insert eye rolls, that McClendon staying might not be a sure thing. Seems he and Smart have gone toe to toe on the same recruits for a while and there maybe some competitive bad blood there. If so, hopefully they can patch things up.
