in getting North Carolina and Virginia to join the SEC or will it be FSU and Clemson? It’s probably just a matter of time before the ACC breaks up. I think Sankey has preferred UNC & UVA in the past because it increases the footprint of the SEC TV market a great deal, which Florida State and Clemson do not. FSU & Clemson would add a great deal to the strength of the SEC, which might be a more important consideration in television contracts than adding to the television footprint of North Carolina and Virginia.
Sankey is currently saying that the SEC is good at 16 teams, and that the SEC will be good tomorrow with 16 teams, which is the right thing to be saying presently. But if/when the ACC breaks up, I believe the SEC will be very interested in adding two more teams. Your thoughts?
