Oregon fans have been biting their nails down to the quick this week over a math test. Vernon Adams had one final exam left to graduate from Eastern Washington University (FCS school) and take his place with the Ducks. He passed, Thursday. He has one year to play for Oregon as a graduate transfer, starting now.

Adams has two weeks of practice before Oregon's first game - and only 3 weeks before their first real game against Michigan State. We like to recall Nick Marshall taking the starting job at AU only 3 weeks after arriving on campus, but he also had 3 games against weak opponents to adjust.

Adams doesn't even have the job, yet. He still has to beat out Jeff Lockie, who was a distant #2 behind Marcus Mariota last year. Think there's some pressure here? The California writers are projecting that Oregon should win the PAC-12 and return to the playoff IF Vernon Adams can win the job. If Locke starts, they put the Ducks in the middle of the PAC. Yeah, he "fits the system" but he hasn't learned it, yet.

Can Vernon Adams come in at the last minute and lead the Mighty Durks to the Promised Land? Will he find it easier to play on a field that doesn't hurt your eyes? And what about Naomi?
