I voted for Carter. I knew it would probably be the only chance to vote for a man from Ga. in my lifetime. Anyone can question him as a president. Few can question him as a man.

Unintended consequences were the order of his Presidency. He meant well but propped up some horrible dictators in the name of peace keeping and single handidly turned south florida into a war zone with Cuban Boat Lift. Even made a movie and a TV show about it, Scarface and Miami Vice.

Whether you agreed with him politically, and I didn't, he was a man of principle and lived it. God Bless him.

Actually met him and Rosalyn on the campaign trail in Lawrenceville, GA back in the day. What a lovely lady she was.

He gave legitimacy to the Palestinians, which is the root of nearly every problem in the Middle East which is the root of many problems throughout the world. I certainly don't wish him dead, but let's not re-write history. He was a very bad POTUS and left us in a huge mess. And, Obama is following in his footsteps.

Not getting into the carter thing but if you want to read a good neutral book about the creation of isreal and its interactions with Palestinians check out "the gun and the olive branch". About 700 page of dense, dense material but it will blow your hair back...
