Our basketball program has great potential but is a big underachiever almost yearly. White is just an average coach in the SEC; he might be an OK coach for a smaller school, but he is not what we need at UGA. He does not coach with the urgency and the fire that it takes to win in the SEC. Regardless what some say, he is not a good recruiter…… the proof is in the pudding. His recruits look good against our non-SEC opponents, but most of them are not equal to SEC competition.

I have always questioned Brooks’ ability to identify and hire elite coaches. He is little more than a $ man; the A.D. at UGA has to be very good at BOTH. We had a golden opportunity to hire a great coach when Crean was fired, but Brooks blew it. He made a quick hire; he hired a coach who was getting run out of town and about to be fired at Florida, the brother of UT’s AD and a good friend of his; and to compound the situation, he gave MW a SIX year contract! A contract of this link is almost unheard of.

I don’t believe Brooks dismisses White this year, even if we lose the rest of our games. We could afford it, financially, but Brooks just doesn’t have what it takes!
