Spoke with Gaston at Westlake tonight.
He’s a man of few words, but a couple notes.
Gaston said he didn’t make his decision until 2 or 3 AM last Friday, the day of his commitment. He was playing the college football video game (He was Clemson, a buddy was Penn State) and it clicked for him.
Gaston also said he didn’t let any coaches know beforehand, just a couple of friends. We had heard rumblings that he might have let the coaches who it WASN’T know, but that’s not what he said.
As for size, Gaston is currently 6-8, 378 pounds.
In addition to Daniel Calhoun, he’s also close with Bo Hughley, Bo Walker, Cortez Smith, Mason Short, and Dontrell Glover.
Gaston will early enroll.
