First and foremost, hitting a woman is completely unacceptable. However, let's not be so quick to jump off a cliff on this whole thing. I just read an article where the AJC apparently obtained the arrest report. Below are some of the quotes from the article.
"The arrest report alleges that the conversation became heated after she found out that Young had been on the phone with another woman. As the argument escalated, the female involved alleges that Young grabbed her near the left bicep and tricep and physically pulled her out of the room. At this point, Young returned to his room and locked the door. As the woman began to gather her things, the police report states that she had called a friend. At this point, Young allegedly left his room and “picked her up and began to squeeze her torso and abdomen very hard.” She believed that Young was trying to harm her." The article goes on to say that there was some redness on her right flank and bruising and discoloration on the right side of her chest, and no redness on the arm that she claimed to have been grabbed on.
So stupid and inexplicable? Yes, absolutely. But it does not seem that Colbie just ruthlessly beat her. Sounds like a relationship that ended, the girl showed up to his apartment to talk about things and an argument ensued. Personally, I say let's just stop with the accusations and let the legal system play itself out.
