Pretty good interview, definitely took him a second to adjust from the “professional” interviews to a more laid-back atmosphere but once he did, he was pretty good. A few notes:
He really wanted to be a Falcon and thought they were taking him at 4, apparently Pablo was a season ticket holder when he was a kid, and he always wanted to play with a dome team.
Had mostly kind words to say about Kirby, he’s happy for his success. Said those leaked pregame/halftime speeches from Kirby are just his usual self and it’s easy to see why the players are fired up to play under him.
The only negative was about the fake punt play. He said he was shocked they wanted to run it, and was close to literally asking Kirby “coach, are you sure you want to run this?”. And when he came onto the field, all the Bama players started pointing him out and calling out the fake.
He didn’t shy away from the fact that he left unceremoniously, but again, is happy for UGA’s success in recent years.
