In the past, even before this year, sometimes we would insist on running in situations where the game script indicated that, but against tough run defenses and would put our defense right back on the field. We obviously had trouble running against their front tonight, but we didn't continue to beat our heads against the wall. On the last drive, back up inside our 10 could have been one of those, but tonight Beck hit a pass on first down and we went fast and were on the hunt right off the bat. Then when we got into the red zone, in past games, we might have run the ball to chew up clock or their timeouts and been fine to kick the FG to go up two scores. But we ran the beautiful bootleg pass to #84 and sealed the game.

There will be games where we can run effectively and I'm sure we'll lean on it when it's appropriate. But tonight, we needed to pass to move the ball, especially in typical run scenarios and we called excellent plays and executed them with protection, accurate passes and catches.
