For some coming from out of town looking to stay in Atlanta, I imagine hotels in Midtown, Buckhead and Perimeter have little vacancy with a high price tag. You may want to consider a hotel in downtown Decatur. Several really good restaurants there, and I think Bench Warmers has opened where Taco Mac used to be so walking to a sports bar would be easy. You could walk to MARTA getting on the East line meaning you don't have to transfer at Five Points station.
