Her chances will depend on the economy in 2028. If the economy is good, her chances of winning are nil. If the economy is bad, she or whoever else the dems put up will win.

Last time I looked, AOC was the most followed politician on social media from any party. The idea that she’s a joke is a bad plan. She is formidable.
Luckily, she is weak on policy, and would be horrible in a debate.
Being famous can be a great asset when your only true role is to vote on bills and get loud about it.
As an executive in charge of anything’s she would be famously exposed for being untalented, incapable, and holding views that wildly conflict with the majority of Americans.

Her policies are terrible, a crazy left socialist. However, other factors play in a debate as you can just make stuff up (see Trump). She is very good on TV and other media, if the economy is poor, don’t underestimate her.

Guys, AOC’s policies are crazy left, but she ain’t dumb. If she is asked on The View if she would do anything differently from an unpopular President, she would not say no way. Big difference in having crazy policies and being dumb. Don’t underestimate her.
No, she's not formidable. She's a populist who appeals to the Marxist wing of the D party and the DAs who want free shit and actually believe socialism is the best form of Govt because it sounds so fair. She speaks no differently than Bernie, but she's a lot dumber. She cannot win in any district where there is not a sizable population of hard lefties. At the moment, the country is swinging away from that. I don't see her ever holding a statewide seat such as Senator, and if she can't win NY, she's not winning a national.
Where she would be a danger is being appointed to an assistant cabinet level position, but secretly would actually be the one in charge.
The Democrats screwed Bernie out of the nomination for Biden because they knew he couldn’t win a national election. AOC wouldn’t stand a chance of winning any swing state. That’s fair. But I think Republicans forget that 50% of the country just voted for Kamala 5 months ago, and she has no substantial policy differences from AOC. Yet AOC is much more popular.
So remember AOC starts the race with 50% in her pocket. 55% is high but not out of the question.
