I met with my county and we agreed on a revised # to avoid scheduling a court date. I have a few questions re: the process.

1. Does the county or state set by laws for property tax valuation and appeal process?

In my meeting it felt like the county representatives were moving the goal post constantly and could not provide specific answers regarding comps.

I was told I had to have more than 1 comp but couldn’t tell me exactly how many I needed.

Also, I used a comp in a different neighborhood, that is maybe two miles from my house and the houses are similarly priced, I was told I could not do that. I call BS on this.

All comps had to be from houses sold in my neighborhood in the last year.. again, this is a small pool to use. Is this true?

So my question, how can I find the exact laws, guidelines the county uses for my next appeal?

Thanks.
