The thread about Beamer's hot seat made me think ... if you are a coach at USCjr, exactly how do you go about getting relevant?
You have to discount the Spurrier years. He's an all-time great coach and he hit some great D to get as far as he could get ... winning the SECE.
So, what they heck can you do? You will never recruit at the level of the top half of the SEC. You will lose players to UGA, Clemson, and others over and over.
Do you go gimmicky? Run the triple option? Seriously, what exactly can you do? I think you have to write off beating the top of the SEC, how do you go 7-5 with an occasional 8-4?
