If you get a chance a great day trip from Venice is the Dolomites, Italian Alps. Also if you have time when in Florence extend a couple of days for Pisa and Cinque Terra on the coast. The hike from the towns is breathtaking.

All the vacation cities in the Mayan Riviera and Caribbean

One of our highlights of Florence was a cooking class. Spent the morning going market to market buying the ingredients, and the afternoon making pasta, sauce, pizzas, with wonderful wines and local beer. The class was in a villa overlooking Florence in the Tuscan hills.

Booked the cooking class with viator. We have recommended this to our friends over the years and it is always enjoyed and a trip highlight. My wife and I are planning southern Italy and Sicily soon.

You will love Dubrovnik! Reserve the Panorama restaurant an hour-hour and a half before sunset. Have to take the cable car high above the city. Get a table close to the edge
