We didn't bust many big runs up the middle yesterday. We struggled to get much going despite 40 rushing attempts. I expected to wear them down, but we never really seemed to get the run game going on all cylinders. We also struggled against Mizzou, but we at least turned it on in the fourth quarter.
Is there a schematic reason why we struggled with Mizzou and Tennessee? Do both LB groups come down hill more, leaving some open passing lanes behind them? Or did we have some unfavorable personnel matchups.
@brollinspff or others, I'd love some discussion on this. We had a great game overall, so I am absolutely nitpicking, but looking ahead, I'm concerned about staying ahead of the chains a little more. Just as we keep succeeding on D despite giving up early scores, we're succeeding on offense when we get behind the chains, but it's not ideal.
