Good morning everyone.
All's quiet for the most part as coaches are busy traversing the country and talking to recruits.
But there is some football to discuss.
There's been a lot of conversation about the running backs, and whether Georgia might try to bring in another back in light of some injuries.
Quick review: Kendall Milton (hamstring). Milton is fine and will be once fall camp begins, but the senior has missed time in each of his first three seasons due to various injuries. It's not unfair to wonder if he can stay healthy for the entire year.
Daijun Edwards: He missed some time in the spring with a hamstring injury, but he's been durable throughout his career.
Branson Robinson: Robinson missed G-Day with a foot injury. You could see Robinson wore a boot during the game. Head coach Kirby Smart, as he typically is, has been somewhat vague. Robinson was initially thought to be ready for fall camp, but now it appears it might not be as soon as that. His current timetable is 3-4 months, which could delay his start to the season. The good news is Robinson's rehab is going well, and he will be 100 percent.
Andrew Paul: Paul, as you know is recovering from ACL surgery. He's expected to be ready sometime during fall camp, but knowing the recovery time it usually takes, it would be unfair to expect a ton from this fall.
Roderick Robinson: The true freshman looked good during G-Day, but how much will he be ready to contribute? Coaches will do everything possible to see that he is. Still.
Cash Jones: Coaches like the walk-on, who is now the top non-scholarship back with Sevaughn Clark no longer with the program after going into the transfer portal.

So, could Georgia look at the portal?
Here's the deal. Right now, there's no room as far as scholarships are concerned. We believe that Georgia (which does not divulge who is on scholarship) is at 85. To bring in somebody else, Smart would A, need to take somebody off (which he's not going to do with the portal now closed), or B, convince someone to walk on with a hefty NIL.
The problem is, there are simply not a lot of quality choices.
Personally, I've been told the Bulldogs are not in the market, but a quick look at the Rivals Transfer Portal it does not take long to see there aren't many options out there, and those that are aren't any better than what's already on the roster.

Fortunately, Georgia's other players who missed G-Day with injuries we're told will be good to go for fall camp.
That list includes Smael Mondon (foot), Marvin Jones Jr. (shoulder), Jalon Waker (shoulder), and Dan Jackson (foot) - will all be fine for the start of fall camp.

Some other thoughts:
Staying on offense, it really seems Arian Smith is starting to click. IF he can just stay healthy, coaches feel he could finally have the kind of impact fans have been salivating for.
Along with Dominic Lovett, Ladd McConkey, Dillon Bell, RaRa Thomas, and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, this group could become as dangerous a group of wideouts as Georgias has had in recent memory.

In case you missed this note on Amarius Mims by our friends at PFF:

Georgia's going to be fine at left tackle. Earnest Greene III and Austin Blaske will continue battling for the starting job this fall. Both players have areas to work on, but coaches are confident both can do the job in a manner the team expects. Monroe Freeling will continue working at the position, with fellow freshman Johnathan Hughley and Kelton Smith also expected to begin their careers working at tackle once they arrive on campus.

Told the team is not concerned one bit that Bear Alexander moved on. The Bulldogs love the depth they've accrued on the defensive line. Although Smart won't say it, the Bulldogs believe they have a potential star in Jordan Hall.

In the shameless plug department, be sure to pick up a copy of Lindy's when the magazine comes out shortly. Was an honor to once again be asked to write their Georgia preview, as well as a feature on Brock Bowers.
