That press conference was a tough scene. They should’ve read a statement and told everyone to stay tuned for more information. There’s just too much unknown for a Q&A.
The Air BNB the killer rented apparently burned down early this morning.
The number of folks at the podium worried about political grandstanding instead of simply disseminating info to the public was nauseating. The 100-year-old lady who is Chief of Police even went on a tangent about how she's improved the murder rate in NOLA. Kennedy was his usual self - more concerned about a viral sound bite.
What about when he described a plan that has been in place for added resources and security for the Super Bowl in Feb and he amended it to now start today in light of the event. Then right after says we did all that we could do to secure and keep people safe for NYE and Sugar Bowl. Huh?
All of those people were a complete fking joke and should be ashamed of themselves.
It’s always the way in the state, and even more in that city. Actually doing the right things always take backseat to political optics.
One of the most bizarre and incompetent press conferences I can remember. Completely tone deaf. The Governor's segment was probably the most surreal with moving up the added resources a day after the tragedy just happened and most every available federal and state agent already onsite. They need some crisis communication training for sure.
They told you, and everybody and their mama knows with half a brain you can't disseminate info to the public in an on going investigation. What do you think they know for fact at this point about anything that you dont already know?
